The primary purpose of this position is to lead three or more workers to accomplish trades and/or labor work on a substantially full time and continuing basis. Leader is responsible to both perform the work assigned by a supervisor and ensures that subordinates completed assigned work consistent with trades and labor standards.
- Leads a team of trades and/or labor workers. On a regular and recurring basis, utilizes trades and/or labor knowledge and skill to lead a team of three or more workers in performance of various related work. Maintains current knowledge and answers questions from other workers on procedures, policies, written instructions and directives. - Performs work.
Performs nonsupervisory trades and/or labor work that is usually of the same kind and level as members of the work crew led. Performs the entire spectrum of trades/and or labor task appropriate for the occupations and grade of the team for which they are assigned working leader. - Performs essential direct digital, electronic, pneumatic, electrical and electromechanical control work incidental to the operation and maintenance of HVAC/R and building control systems.
Troubleshoots control systems to locate data base issues, programming issues, loose connections, opens, shorts, grounds and all other malfunctions common to industrial control systems. - Troubleshoots HVAC/R systems with complex problems and extensive repairs requiring judgment to locate malfunctions.
Uses specialized test equipment to troubleshoot single and multiple fuel power boilers and associated auxiliary and pollution control equipment, such as water treatment systems and chemical dispensers.
- Leads installation and repairs and maintains a variety of complex heating boilers and/or heating systems, single and multiple fuel power boilers, large commercial and industrial ventilation, refrigeration, air conditioning (AC), cooling systems and associated auxiliary and pollution control equipment.
