Functions as an Industrial Specialist in the research and development section of the vehicular up-fit factory. Analyzes project requests and determines the scope of proposals to ensure the needs of the customer are addressed. Prepares design sketches (utilizing CAD), cost estimates, detailed job plans, and material requirements involved in the up-fitting of new vehicles. Vehicles must be in compliance with state and federal laws.
Responsible for the establishment of new product packages, the expansion and improvement of current up-fitting packages, and improvement of re-manufacturing processes throughout the Fleet Management and Vehicular Components Business Group. Develops and maintains programs on a continuing basis to assure satisfactory completion of all projects and ongoing projects related to their area of responsibility.
Along with all other correctional institution employees, incumbent is charged with responsibility for maintaining security of the institution. The staff correctional responsibilities precede all others required by this position and are performed on a regular and recurring basis.
