This position is located in the Federal Trade Commission's Office of the Commissioner, Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO). The Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) oversees all IT services in support of the FTC's mission and strategic plan.
The incumbent's duties will include: Providing technical assistance for a wide range of developmental IT assignments and projects relative to information systems and/or security matters; Assisting and provides support in research that ensures the confidentiality, integrity of the IT infrastructure, and availability of IT services and business requirements that affect the customer's satisfaction with IT services; Assisting in the research in a developmental capacity that provides staff and supervisors with enough information to allow them to independently develop recommendations through use of FTC data such as that for budgets, acquisitions, governance, performance management, and enterprise architecture and customer feedback and that can support considerations by senior decision makers; Performing basic troubleshooting of security issues under close direction of more senior IT staff; Evaluating and providing feedback on problematic trends and patterns; and Performing other duties as assigned.

If you cannot obtain your graduate school's definition of one year of graduate study, 18 semester hours (or 27 quarter hours) should be considered as satisfying the requirement for one year of full-time graduate study.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
