Duties and responsibilities of the INTERMITTENT INTERVENTIONAL AND SPECIALTY REGISTERED NURSE include, but are not limited to: Intermittent Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible and accountable for individual nursing practice and determines the appropriate delegation of tasks consistent with the nurse's obligation to provide optimal care.
This nurse must obtain the ONS Fundamentals of Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Administration ANCC Certification within the first twelve months of beginning the position. The focus is on individual growth and development in practice with increased levels of self-direction. This nurse provides patient care, care coordination, health promotion, health education and coaching on wellness, disease prevention, and chronic care management.
Ability to formulate a plan of care based on nursing assessments. Partners with the patient, family, and interdisciplinary team to promote effective and safe transitions across the health care continuum Delegates elements of care to the appropriate individual based upon assessed needs, condition, and safety of the patient. The nurse brings principles and theory with limited application of critical thinking skills.
Supports colleagues through knowledge sharing to provide safe, quality nursing care. Shares educational findings, experiences, and ideas with peers. Questions clinical practices for the purpose of providing evidence-based care. Fosters a safe and supportive environment conducive to the professional development of healthcare professionals. Contributes professional nursing perspective in discussions with the interdisciplinary team.
The Intermittent nurse participates in educational events, completes required educational courses by due date, and performs other duties as assigned by the Nurse Manager or designee.
