This position serves as Investigative Analyst with the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA), Office of Hazardous Materials Safety, (OHMS), Field Operations, National Programs. The incumbent reports to and represent the Director, National Programs in performing data analytics, investigative research, outreach, administrative support, and other Field Operation-related duties as assigned.
As a Investigative Analyst, you will: Collect, organize, validate, and analyze data and information to support investigations, program planning, reporting, decision-making, and program evaluation; identify trends and develop findings and recommendations. Research and analyze regulations, policies, procedures, records, and program information to support investigative, administrative, training, and program initiatives.
Support planning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of Division programs and projects; develop reports, tracking tools, performance information, and action items to monitor progress toward goals and objectives. Prepare and present reports, briefings, correspondence, and other analytical products and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to communicate findings, obtain information, resolve issues, and support Division initiatives.
Procure office supplies for the Division and serves as a Purchase Cardholder for the Division The ideal candidate is a self-directed professional with experience planning, coordinating, and carrying out program and administrative activities supporting organizational operations. Candidate exercises sound judgment, analyzes information, resolves issues, and develops practical recommendations to improve program effectiveness and administrative processes.
Candidate is highly organized and able to manage competing priorities, projects, reporting requirements, and action items and possesses exceptional communication and stakeholder coordination skills. Experience supporting the administrative and operational needs of a technical or academic training environment or multiple operational offices is desirable.
