ODI works centrally and within SI units to unlock the full potential of our collections and resources, better understand and serve our audiences, and pioneer innovative approaches to accelerate and scale Smithsonian's impact.
The IT Program Manager decides on, leads and oversees SI's digital asset services function and provides enterprise leadership for the systems, platforms, services and operational capabilities that support digital assets and collections information.
In this position, you will: Lead and oversee the enterprise digital asset services function and directs the strategy, operation, modernization and continuous improvement of platforms, systems and services supporting capture, management, preservation, discovery, access and lifecycle management of digital assets and collections information.
Exercise the full range of supervisory and managerial authorities over subordinate supervisors, managers, technical specialists and contractors; plans work, allocates resources, evaluates performance, recommends personnel actions and develops workforce capability. Establish vision, priorities, roadmaps, governance frameworks, standards and operating models for enterprise digital asset services; advises senior leadership; coordinates institution-wide planning.
Direct technology investments, contracts, budgets, vendor relationships and service portfolios; prioritizes modernization and operational investments; ensures stewardship of financial, contractual, technological and human resources; leads acquisition planning and vendor management.
