The Technology Directorate provides information technology services for all FSA systems, promoting the effective and secure use of technology to achieve FSA's strategic objectives through sound planning, investments, integrated technology architectures and standards, effective systems development, production support, and cybersecurity services.
This is a term position with a Not to exceed 2 years which can be extended up to ten years with a possibility of being converted to permanent. As a IT Specialist, GS-2210-13, you will be responsible for: Supporting operations, maintenance, development, and security activities, including system design, documentation, testing, installation, implementation, and audit response/readiness, of new and existing Financial Management & Support Division IT systems, including, but not limited to, FSA's Oracle E-Business Suite-based Financial Management System and Oracle Enterprise Performance Management-based Budget Support System.
Providing expert guidance and project management support in the consolidation and modernization of financial and administrative systems supporting programs enacted under Title IV of the Higher Education Act, including change and configuration management, lifecycle development activity, patch management and release planning using an Agile development approach.
Supporting testing activity by creating or utilizing repeatable testing methodologies/tools ensuring a documented, repetitive process provides requirements tracking traceability, to ensure the integration of IT programs and services and resolution of integration/interoperability issues. Supporting oversight of system contracts and acquisition process, including cost estimation, requirements gathering, proposal evaluation, and monitoring.
Coordinating FM&S Division activity within Finance, across the Department of Education and with external partners and vendors.
