This position is located in the Small Business Administration, Office of the Chief Information Officer in Washington, D.C. The position serves as a senior technical expert responsible for cloud engineering, artificial intelligence (AI) and machine-learning engineering, secure platform design, and responsible-AI implementation supporting SBA mission systems and modernization priorities.
As an IT Specialist (Senior Cloud AI Engineer) at theGS- 2210-14, some of your typical work assignments may include: Develop technical standards, reference architecture, implementation patterns, responsible-AI guardrails, and reusable engineering playbooks for cloud-hosted AI and machine-learning workloads.
Develop target-state architectures for cloud-hosted AI workloads, including data pipelines, APIs, model development environments, inference services, containerized applications, and supporting infrastructure. Lead or support pilots, proofs-of-concept, and engineering assessments of emerging cloud and AI technologies, and recommend adoption, refinement, or discontinuation based on mission value, security, and implementation risk.
Communicate complex technical concepts, risks, tradeoffs, and recommendations in terms understandable to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
