Key Responsibilities
Serving as a Law Enforcement Specialist (Counterterrorism Instructor) GS-1801-12 makes you a valuable member of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers (FLETC) team and mission. This position is located in the Terrorism Prevention Branch (TPB), Counterterrorism Division (CTD), under the Office of the Associate Director for Training Operations (TOPS) and located in Glynco, Georgia.
The primary purpose of this position is to plan and conduct classroom, laboratory, and/or field instruction sessions as part of CTD training programs. Typical duties include: Preparing law enforcement personnel to recognize the dangers associated with targeted violence/violent extremism and to effectively operate in the terrorism prevention space.
Conducting training classes and online learning for personnel and plans, coordinating and executing field training and lab exercises. Monitoring progress of students, documents results, and/or recommends remedial and corrective action to include additional training and changes in training and/or operational procedures and instructions. Participating in developing program/course material in the CTD instructional field.
