The following are the duties of this position at the full working level. If this vacancy includes more than one grade and you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform these duties and receive training to help you grow in this position.
Distributes and balances the workload among employees in accordance with established workflow or job specialization; assures timely accomplishment of assigned work and that employees have sufficient work to maintain productivity.
Monitors the status and progress of work and makes day-to-day adjustments in accordance with established priorities, obtaining assistance from the supervisor on problems such as backlogs or workload issues that cannot be resolved at the work leader level. Estimates and reports expected completion dates for assigned work; maintains records of work accomplishments and time expended; and prepares production and workload reports as requested.
Instructs employees in specific tasks, job techniques, and work methods and ensures employees have access to written instructions, reference materials, automated systems, and other resources necessary to accomplish assigned work. A college or university degree generally must be from an accredited (or pre-accredited) college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
