At the full performance level, you will support Assistant United States Attorneys (AUSA) by providing a variety of technical legal assistance and administrative support services.
Typical work assignments will include: Serving as the Grand Jury Coordinator, coordinating the administrative, logistical, and legal aspects of the office's grand jury program by preparing and processing grand jury materials, managing grand jury calendars and summonses, coordinating schedules, and maintaining related records and tracking information.
Examining, preparing, proofreading, and processing a variety of technical legal documents and correspondence; Organizing and maintaining case materials, legal records, and electronically stored information; Preparing, organizing, and managing voluminous evidence and discovery materials for investigations, discovery productions, and trial; Assisting attorneys in trial preparation, including preparing exhibits, witness materials, trial notebooks, and other litigation support materials; Utilizing case management systems, electronic databases, and software applications to manage case information, discovery, evidence, and trial materials; Conducting factual and legal research using computerized databases and other legal research tools; Reviewing, coding, indexing, redacting, and processing electronic documents and discovery materials; Monitoring case activity and tracking filing, hearing, trial, and other case-related dates and deadlines; Coordinating legal and administrative activities with attorneys, court personnel, law enforcement agencies, and victim/witnesses; Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.
All academic degrees and coursework must be completed at a college or university that has obtained accreditation or pre-accreditation status from an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
