Job Summary

The United States Attorney's Office for South Carolina's mission is to investigate, prosecute and deter violations of federal statutes, enforce and represent the interests of the United States in civil litigation, uphold civil, constitutional and victims' rights, and foster partnerships with other federal, state and local government agencies and community groups. Key Responsibilities

This Supervisory Legal Administrative Specialist trains and supervises support staff, provide guidance on integrating software into the criminal division support workload, and provide legal and technical support services to one or more Assistant United States Attorneys (AUSAs). If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for providing Supervisory Legal Administrative Specialist support in the U.S.

Attorney's Office, District of South Carolina, located in Charleston, South Carolina, focusing in the areas of legal administrative support. Typical work assignments will include: Maintaining current case assignments for all criminal division legal support staff for the office to ensure efficient and effective work distribution. Planning criminal division legal support staff assignments in consultation with supervisory AUSAs.

Serving as the Rating Official for Legal Administrative Specialists and Legal Assistants in the criminal division. Providing orientation for new criminal division legal support staff and conducts on-the-job training. Assisting and/or training legal support staff in organizing voluminous case information for efficient retrieval through automated means such as scanning, indexing and controlling of documents into a database.

Performing a variety of litigation support tasks necessary to process complex and/or voluminous electronically stored information. Maintaining evidence such as paper documents, PDF files, image files, audio files, video, files, bank records, forensic reports, and other file types. Providing automated litigation assistance to attorneys in trial preparation and courtroom presentations.

Requirements & Education
