Job Summary

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment.

Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.

Key Responsibilities

Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional Duties may include but are not limited to: Performs daily care for residents including but not limited to: activities of daily living, dressing, hygiene care, nail care, toileting, restorative programs, assistance with feeding, decluttering, end-of-life care, and post-mortem care. Demonstrates a caring, compassionate, and respectful attitude.

Verbalizes and demonstrates understanding of the long sheet and importance of daily utilization of the form. Working knowledge of shower/tub room processes. Understands resident preferences and respect/dignity in implementing those preferences. Understanding of each neighborhood on unit, processes, and residents. Proper process of entering and exiting rooms. Assist other staff as necessary to ensure proper care.

Complete weekly skin re-assessment VANOD note Understanding and use of nurse call system, answering alarm/phone appropriately, responding promptly to resident situation. Understanding of the Wanderguard system process, policy, and prompt response to alarm - Monthly D-Sticks for residents using antipsychotic medications Complete daily/shift documentation as appropriate. Not limited to CLC Wound Care & Treatment Note. Complete documentation as needed.

Not limited to Pain Notes, Narcotic Patch Waste Note, Behavior Notes, Vaccine Note, Pneumococcal PCV 13, IV notes, Antibiotic Notes, Treatment Note, D-Stick Note, Nursing Re-assessment Notes, ADL notes, and nursing notes. Ability to use computer and VA software such as CPRS/BCMA/EMR, Microsoft Office and locate forms utilized by the L VN. Use appropriate infection control measures as listed in the orientation check-off packet.

Use appropriate customer service guidelines as listed in the orientation check-off packet. Including, but not limited to CLC Veteran-Centered Care, resident preferences, and Cultural Transformation. Patient-care duties as specifically outlined in the CLC L VN Orientation Checklist. Including, but not limited to equipment, procedures, and CLC unit workflow in order to provide care to the residents. Understands that the CLC is a restraint-free environment.

Verbalize and understand what is considered a restraint. Complete wound care treatment as ordered by physician. Including documentation and assessment for preventative wound care treatment. Maintain a working knowledge of each neighborhood on unit. Assist other staff as necessary to ensure proper care. Delegate duties as appropriate for positions.

When setting pay, a higher step rate of the appropriate grade may be determined after consideration of higher or unique qualifications or special needs of the VA (Above Minimum Rate of the Grade).

Paid Time Off: 37-50 days of annual paid time offer per year (13-26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year) Parental Leave: After 12 months of employment, up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave in connection with the birth, adoption, or foster care placement of a child.

Child Care Subsidy: After 60 days of employment, full time employees with a total family income below $144,000 may be eligible for a childcare subsidy up to 25% of total eligible childcare costs for eligible children up to the monthly maximum of $416.66.
