Typical assignments include: Supporting FEMA's mission to save and sustain lives by planning, coordinating, and evaluating complex regional logistics operations supporting disaster preparedness, response, and recovery program objectives.

Integrating logistics requirements involving supply, transportation, property, facilities, fleet, warehousing, telecommunications, and other support functions to ensure resources are available where and when needed. Analyzing logistics programs, processes, data, and requirements to identify operational challenges, improve efficiency, strengthen readiness, and recommend solutions to senior FEMA officials.

Coordinating across FEMA headquarters, regional organizations, IMATs, Federal partners, State, Local, Tribal, Territorial, nonprofit, and private-sector stakeholders to develop and implement effective logistics solutions. Providing technical advice, developing plans and procedures, supporting contracts and property accountability, and helping FEMA anticipate and respond to evolving disaster and operational requirements. Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically austere and operationally challenging conditions.
