This position is located in Region Six, Mitigation Division. The ideal candidate for this position will have experience managing budget-related activities, including spend plan development, financial tracking, reporting, and coordination with program and financial management teams to support sound fiscal planning and execution.
What will I do in this position if hired? In this position, you will be serving as an expert technical advisor performing a wide variety of management and administrative program surveillance associated with meeting the mission and strategic goals of Region 6. Typical assignments include: Developing, coordinating, and monitoring Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistent and efficient operational practices across the organization.
Managing and supporting the budget process, spend plan coordination, including planning, tracking, and reporting financial activities to ensure alignment with organizational goals and fiscal requirements. Actively participate in meetings, work groups, and briefings with stakeholders, providing input and representing the organization's interests.
Providing comprehensive technical and policy guidance on mitigation issues, supporting the development and implementation of effective strategies and solutions. Serving as the Contracting Officer Representative (COR) Level 3, overseeing contract performance, ensuring compliance with federal regulations, and coordinating with vendors and internal stakeholders to achieve project objectives.
Promotion Potential: Future promotions will be dependent on your ability to perform the duties at a higher level, the continuing need for an employee assigned to the higher level, and administrative approval. Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically austere and operationally challenging conditions.
