Job Summary

This position is in Education Service (EDU), Veteran Benefit Administration (VBA). The Management and Program Analyst position is within the Program Oversight and Accountability Division (EDU) , and assigned to the Approvals Management and Oversight (AMO) Team. The incumbent reports to the Supervisory Management and Program Analyst.

The incumbent is responsible for providing administrative and analytical support for the AMO Team who focuses on safeguarding the integrity of the G.I. Bill.

Key Responsibilities

Specific duties include: Provides comprehensive administrative support to ensure the efficient operation of the AMO team. Develops and maintains tracking systems for recurring reports, deadlines, and actions, ensuring leadership is informed and program operations are fully supported. Leads consultations with the team members and supervisor as outlined in established policies and procedures.

Prepares written correspondence, reports, presentations, and other applicable documents in response to requests from both internal and external stakeholders. Monitors and responds to inquiries received through AMO team communication channels. Applies technical and administrative knowledge and leverages technology to identify and implement automation that aligns processes between and among stakeholders.

Represents the AMO team at meetings with all levels of management that involve the review of statistical reports, findings, and recommendations. Reviews assigned program approval workload products within the system of record or other business systems to ensure all aspects of the approval are complete and aligned to statutory and regulatory requirements.

Tracks the progress of weekly, monthly, and quarterly activities with respect to approval, compliance, and liaison performance measures. Provides project management support across multiple initiatives. Conducts analysis of program operations, policies, and performance to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.

Uses both qualitative and quantitative methods; the analyst evaluates program data, prepares reports, and develops recommendations for decision-makers. Reviews administrative processes to ensure alignment with organizational goals, identifying inefficiencies and proposing changes to improve effectiveness.

Conducts periodic studies involving the compilation and analysis of data for evaluating and improving the effectiveness of approval, compliance, and liaison activities within the division. Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm Compressed/Flexible: Not Available Telework: This position is eligible for situational (ad hoc) telework only.

The selectee is required to report to the official duty station each scheduled workday. Telework may be approved only on a case-by-case basis with supervisory approval.
