This position is located within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Office, Office of Finance (OF), Financial Policy Division. The Office of Finance secures and safeguards financial resources to enable CBP's mission.
The incumbent serves as an expert analyst and advisor to OF management, applying advanced qualitative and quantitative methods to develop, evaluate, and improve financial policies, oversee program operations, and implement data-driven systems to support CBP's mission and strategic objectives.
Typical duties include: Leading, supporting, researching, analyzing and implementing existing and emerging finance-related policies and processes based on analysis of current and emerging issues, ensuring alignment with CBP and DHS mission objectives.
Collaborating with Office of Finance staff and CBP financial leadership to address operational needs while ensuring compliance with law, rules, and mandates from the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), DHS and the Department of Treasury.
Developing detailed plans and criteria for implementing and maintaining the CBP Conference Approval Program and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and CBP and DHS policies while also tracking, analyzing and reporting on Conference attendance, costs and outcomes to identify trends and recommend improvements.
Utilizing data analysis techniques and information systems to monitor, analyze, track, and evaluate data related to policies, procedures, standard operating procedures, and conference-related activities. This position starts at a salary of $143,913.00 (GS-14, Step 1) to $187,093.00 (GS-14, Step 10) with promotion potential to $187,093 (GS-14 Step 10).
