This position is located in the Veterans Experience Office (VEO), Customer Experience Data, Analytics, and Technology Solutions (CXDATS). The incumbent leads data science and analytics initiatives that transform complex data into actionable insights, supports data-driven decision-making, and manages projects that advance customer experience, business process improvement, and organizational change across VA programs and services.
Identifies, collects, prepares, and assesses structured and unstructured data to support business and analytical needs Develops and applies analytical techniques, including data mining, data modeling, machine learning, and predictive modeling, to identify trends, patterns, and insights Develops analytical applications and visualizations that transform complex data into meaningful information for business and program decision-making Leads and mentors junior analysts in managing complex data science projects from discovery and design through technical development and implementation Leads process improvement and process management initiatives and analyzes business process data to identify requirements and opportunities for improvement Applicant Count: This announcement will remain open until the closing date, 10/16/2026, or when the applicant count is reached, whichever is earlier.

Receiving Service Credit or Earning Annual (Vacation) Leave: Federal Employees earn annual leave at a rate (4, 6 or 8 hours per pay period) which is based on the number of years they have served as a Federal employee. VA may offer newly-appointed Federal employee's credit for their job-related non-federal experience or active duty uniformed military service. This credited service can be used in determining the rate at which they earn annual leave.
Such credit must be requested and approved prior to the appointment date and is not guaranteed.
