Job Summary

Incumbent serves as a Management and Program Analyst for the Flight Standards Program of the Foundational Business Directorate,AFB-1.

Key Responsibilities

Performs multiple and varying assignments under the limited direction of a manager, project/program manager, team leader, or more experienced professional. Acts as an individual contributor and/or member of a team and performs some leadership functions for small projects/programs or other work activities.Serves as a Flight Standards business partner with organizations outside the branch and division, including individuals and offices in AHR, ABI, AFB, AFS, AFG, AFC, and AFX.

Contacts other LOBs and Staff Offices, which may include APM, AGC, and ASH. Assists management with the preparation and coordination of a variety of tools and decisions, which could include requests for personal protection equipment, ethics determination, mobile loaner phones, records review, correspondence review, inspector credentials (including 110A and badges), awards, plaques, emergency management, occupational safety, pay flex, and other core comp pay tools.

Assists in the coordination of paperwork and decision tools with various branch POCs.

Maintains up to date and accurate employee listing for multiple items, which may include important information regarding participation in hearing conservation program, footwear program, financial disclosure filings, inspector credential approval documents, and ensures accurate and up to date knowledge of employee training completion and service-wide organizational structure to develop and maintain organizational charts and email lists for the Flight Standard Service.

Provides guidance to less-experienced professionals in day-to-day operations; Applies experience and advanced knowledge to plan and accomplish assignments. Assignments require knowledge and experience working across functional and/or organizational lines. Demonstrates considerable independence in planning time and assists managers, project/program managers, and/or team leaders in planning and using assigned resources to accomplish projects/programs/activities.

Identifies and requests additional resources, as needed. Share information provides data and/or written analyses, and/or explain the statuses of assignments. Contacts customers and other external parties to gather information, explain regulations, and discuss t e customers' situations. Established policies/procedures provide guidance for most assignments but allow considerable discretion for employees to select the most appropriate approach(es).

Assignments often require review of policies precedents under the limited guidance of a manager or other employee. Analyzes administrative policies and guidelines to provide management advice on the current and future optimal operation of assigned programs. Evaluates organizational activities to ensure conformance and timeliness in meting goals and objectives.

Provides technical analysis in identifying and analyzing emerging issues, working both independently and collaboratively to develop and evaluate alternatives to resolve problems and improve existing or the development of new processes. Contacts typically are internal and external, with regular contacts among major subdivisions and LOB's/SO's, customers, and other external parties to share information about the FAA and explain the applications, policies and procedures.

Established policies/procedures provide guidance for most assignments but allow considerable discretion for employees to select the most appropriate approach or recommend new approaches. Assignments often require reviews of policies and precedents under the limited guidance of a manager or other employee. Resolves most problems and work issues without assistance.

Identifies, analyzes and refers to managers and professionals who are more experienced with problems that require their attention. Helps to develop and recommend solutions for complex/difficult problems and to recommend improvements to systems and processes. Performs other duties as assigned.
