Key Responsibilities

The following are the duties of this position at the full working level. If this vacancy includes more than one grade and you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform these duties and receive training to help you grow in this position.

Directs, plans and coordinates complex analyses of planned or proposed programs, projects or processes which consider factors such as; impact on customers, other programs and procedural changes, staffing, training and support requirements, risk factors, costs and available alternatives.

Performs operational reviews, prepares evaluations and provides guidelines pertaining to the effectiveness of complex program operations which involve and impact multiple IRS locations and/or organizations. May lead or coordinate lower graded employees in the reviews and evaluations of complex programs. Participates in formal or informal studies, either independently or as directed by management.

Formulates projects, proposals, makes recommendations on priorities, scope, timing and techniques for management consideration and decision. May act as a senior analyst providing guidance and assistance to lower grade specialists. May serve as project manager responsible for accomplishing various analytical studies and/or projects involving complex programs, systems and issues that impact on multiple IRS locations and/or organizations.

Requirements & Education

A college or university degree generally must be from an accredited (or pre-accredited) college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. For a list of schools which meet these criteria, please refer to Department of Education Accreditation page. FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements.

You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
