Key Responsibilities

Duties include, but are not limited to: Develops standard operating procedures and guidelines and performs quality assurance studies on Radiation Oncology Program operations. Conducts in-depth analysis and overall staffing needs for the agency through qualitative and quantitative analysis for the healthcare group. Assists leadership in setting priorities based on the detailed data analysis and interpretation conducted by the incumbent.

Researches, organizes, compiles, summarizes, and analyses data and information for assigned special projects. Serves as an advisor and resource person to policy and working groups (i.e., Patient Advocate Office, Out-Patient Systems Redesign Committee) to facilitate changes needed to meet health care group with VALBHS strategic goals and objectives.

Works with healthcare managers and other staff members in the planning, evaluation, and assessment to ensure data adherence and compliance for National Radiation Oncology Program Office (NROP) standards. Interprets findings resulting from studies that are independently developed. Participates in completing analyses of data and identifying administratively significant findings.

Provides advanced qualitative and quantitative analysis and evaluation concerning clinical measures and in meeting established goals and objectives including staffing variance. Applies analytical and evaluative methods and techniques to issues or studies concerning administrative support functions. Recommends solutions for program officials and supervisors.

Recommendations include modified work methods, procedural changes, system variations, and acceptance of new technology developments. Provides statistical reports, evaluated information for effective direction in program operations. Extracts and formulates data into different database programs such as Excel, Access, or SQL and prepares analysis for reports. Utilizes current database systems including Allocation Resource Center (ARC) and VHA support service center (VSSC).
