This position is part of the Energy Information Administration, Department of Energy. As a Mathematical Statistician, you will apply mathematical statistical theories, techniques and methods to the full range of statistical studies, projects and programs, and participates in studies important to agency decision makers.

Veterans shape the future of energy As a Mathematical Statistician, you will: Develop and document advanced statistical forecasting tools to project energy market dynamics, including pricing, supply, and distribution patterns.
Provide senior officials with recommendations for analyzing and interpreting complex or incomplete data. Review and verify the mathematical and statistical methods used in energy program studies to ensure results are valid, accurate, and reliable. Assess mathematical and statistical methodologies applied to energy program studies to ensure findings are accurate, valid, and reliable.
Coordinate nationwide statistical studies, manage vendor performance, and brief stakeholders on project progress and outcomes. Develop and adapt innovative mathematical and statistical methodologies to address complex analytical challenges.
