Job Summary

Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, U.S. Border Patrol, Rio Grande Valley Sector, Mission Readiness Operations Directorate, Fleet Department, located in McAllen, TX. Additional selections may be made for other organizational divisions and/or units within the duty location(s) listed above.

Key Responsibilities

This position uses your knowledge and experience to perform various mission support duties that fulfill the goals and objectives of U.S. Border Patrol. This position starts at a salary of $50,460.00 (GS-7, Step 1) to $80,243.00 (GS-9, Step 10) with promotion potential to $97,087 (GS-11, Step 10). As a Mission Support Specialist (Logistics), you will provide technical expertise and guidance and perform a variety of services as they relate to logistics, supplies, fleet, and facilities management.

You will also serve as a point of contact and provide general guidance and information to other CBP office staff on emerging trends affecting the division. Typical duties of this assignment include: Providing local agency direction and creating, accepting, modifying and transferring of personal property records in accordance with the USBP directives. Reviewing and processing lost, stolen, destroyed, or missing property in appropriate systems.

Researching suppliers and working with requesters to procure goods/services. Executing purchases, conducting reconciliation, and maintaining documentation as directed by the Purchase Card Manual. Conducting records management and producing various fleet reports.
