Job Summary

The Falls Prevention Program Manager (PM) is based on national standards, evidenced-based practice, and outcomes research in accordance with the scope of practice. Serves as a consultant for problem resolution across service/discipline lines. Maintains flexibility with a high degree of interpersonal skills, effective communication, leadership, motivation, self-direction, and ongoing evaluation of activities. Follows procedures per established policies and guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

Demonstrates leadership in delivering and improving holistic care through collaborative strategies with others. Demonstrates proficiency in decision-making and using the nursing process for complex situations that effect performance outcomes at the point of care. The Falls Prevention Program Manager (PM) Registered Nurse (RN) applies the nursing process to systems or processes to improve care.

Supports and enhances client self-determination, while serving as a resource for clients and staff in resolving ethical issues. Developing patient/caregiver education programs for fall and injury prevention. Overseeing and managing the local falls database. Coaching unit managers and their staff on fall prevention strategies, serving as a preceptor and/or mentor.

Formulating trends and providing the trends at least quarterly to the Associate Director of Patient Care Service (ADPCS). Working in collaboration with the Patient Safety Managers (PSMs) and staff to build a culture of safety. Focuses on leadership in strategically planning long-term goals for the microsystem (unit, team, or workgroup) that impacts operations or resources.

Strong data and analytics capabilities preferred. Experience with patient safety, quality management, or fall prevention initiatives preferred.
