Key Responsibilities
The primary purpose of this position is: To serve as the Operations Support Specialist, a combat mission area that encompasses numerous operations support, intelligence, acquisitions, financial, communications, logistics management, equipment, production, integration, and training programs. Oversees the complex, numerous, and varied day-to-day, midterm, and multiyear activities that underwrite the success of assigned combat operations.
The position is designed to engender the combined benefit of subordinate directorate efforts, to integrate and oversee diverse programs, and to chair the advancement of mission critical special programs.
DUTIES: - Plans, organizes, and oversees the day-to-day, mid-term, and multiyear support activities that underwrite the combat success of a major organization - Represents the major organization and the major military command through an extensive network of senior-level professional contacts within the Defense Department, various government agencies, the academic community, and the commercial sector - Directs, coordinates and oversees the work of Personnel Recovery Operations, Operations Support, Acquisitions, Tactics and Special Programs, and Special Communications directorates through subordinate supervisors.
- Participates in special projects and initiatives and performs special assignments to include long-term planning, functional/technical advice and guidance, and continuity of management
This position is with Air Force Elements, U.S. Special Operations Command, Department of the Air Force.
