This is an Air Reserve Technician (ART) position. ARTs are part of the regular career civil service and enjoy all the benefits granted to Federal employees in the competitive civil service. In addition, ARTs are required to maintain their active membership in the AF Reserve unit where assigned. ARTs receive on average one weekend of military training per month.

The primary purpose of this position is: To serve as the Air Reserve Technician (ART), section supervisor, exercising technical and administrative supervision over subordinate workers in accomplishing munitions work. Trains reservists in the duties and responsibilities set forth herein. Based on established work schedules, determines work sequence and makes work assignments accordingly. Ensures that adequate equipment, tools, parts, materials, and assets are available.
Answers questions providing reasons for departure from normal methods, procedures, and operations. Determines need for adjustment in skills as required to accomplish certain work operations. Performs work direction responsibilities. Assigns work to individuals and provides technical direction and/or help in accomplishing difficult work steps and processes. Investigates work related problems such as excessive costs or low productivity and determines causes.
Implements corrective actions within designated authority to resolve work problems. Performs administrative responsibilities. Advises employees of performance expectations. Provides proper guidance and direction, continuous feedback on strengths and weaknesses. Holds employees responsible for satisfactory completion of work assignments, and recommends performance ratings in accordance with regulations.
Recommends appropriate recognition and corrective action, as needed, in performance management. Reserve Training: Administers the reserve training and associated programs for Sortie Support Flight ensuring consistent standards throughout the flight for traditional reservists and ARTs. Complies with all Federal, State, DOD, USAF, and local regulations concerning hazardous materials/waste munitions assets.

The posted pay range is $96253 – $112302/yr.
This position requires a Secret security clearance.
