Job Summary

The primary purpose of this position is to ensure that treaty monitoring samples are processed through AFTAC's world-class cleanroom correctly, efficiently, and safely to obtain data for national and international authorities. This position supports materials monitoring programs to carry out national and international treaty monitoring missions.

Key Responsibilities

DUTY 1: Participates in all aspects of sample handling and processing activities for national and international monitoring, inspection, and R&D programs. Coordinates with evaluation and collection personnel to ensure written documentation is consistent with samples received.

DUTY 2: Perform radiation surveys to measure levels of ionizing radiation and to apply appropriate operating procedures for 400 - 600 high-value environmental samples annually, supporting national and international nuclear treaty monitoring missions. DUTY 3: Assist in monitoring the performance of a 6000 square foot multi-class cleanroom.

This includes, but is not limited to, mechanical system performance and maintenance and assuring temperature, humidity, relative pressure, and airborne particulate count remain within specifications. DUTY 4: Participate in cleanroom contamination control strategy to include cleaning, monitoring, and analysis of microscopic particulate. This will require coordination with other cleanroom personnel as well as evaluation and collection personnel.

You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: This position is a Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel Systems (DCIPS) position implemented under Section 504, Title V of Public Law 99-569, Intelligence Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 1987, as codified in Sec 1601, Chap 83 of Title 10 United States Code which sets forth Air Force policies and procedures for DCIPS. This position is in the Excepted Service.
