This position is located with Bonneville Power Administration, in Physical Security (NNT) organization of Security and Continuity of Operations (NN), Chief Administrative Office (N). A successful candidate in the Physical Security Specialist position will plan, develop, and implement a physical security program, ensuring compliance with applicable standards, risk informed, and integrated into the security and continuity of operations program.
As a Physical Security Specialist, you will: Program Planning & Strategy: Plans, implements, and evaluates a comprehensive physical security program to protect critical infrastructure, facilities, and personnel against threats and disruptions. Policy & Compliance Guidance: Interprets laws, directives, and industry standards to develop physical security policies, procedures, and site security plans, serving as an authoritative advisor on security requirements.
Vulnerability Assessments & Systems Design: Conducts risk and vulnerability surveys of facilities and recommends the installation of physical security systems, such as access controls, alarms, and surveillance equipment. Contract Oversight: Manages and oversees armed security service contracts by defining operational requirements, monitoring contractor performance, and ensuring compliance with safety and budgetary guidelines.
Audits, Inspections & Quality Control: Coordinates and participates in physical security audits and inspections, identifies security lapses or deficiencies, and implements corrective actions. Incident Response & Investigations: Responds to security incidents-such as unauthorized access, theft, vandalism, or sabotage-and conducts investigations by gathering evidence, interviewing witnesses, and coordinating with law enforcement officials.
