The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the technical supervisor, providing planning, directing, organizing, and exercising control over employees assigned to the Plans and Programs (XP) section.
Advises the command staff on all phases of plans and programs, resources management, procedural compliance, and a variety of special projects/events
Plans, organizes, and executes a wide range of complex activities for the Wing Commander's Plans and Programs office. Responsible for compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and ensuring the best interests of the Air Force and Airmen's needs are met. Develops, integrates, and directs the wing planning activities.
Manages complex programs/projects, plans, and identifies difficult issues requiring modification to existing policies or processes; performs analysis for potential mission impact; develops alternatives and/or resolutions; and negotiates conflicting positions to ensure consensus from senior leaders.
Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of the Plans and Programs directorate/division/section, ensuring that the wing plans and programs comply with legal and regulatory requirements and meets command intent and satisfies customer needs. Performs supervisory personnel management responsibilities.
Plans and assigns work to be accomplished by subordinates, considers difficulty of assignments and capabilities of employees, sets and adjusts priorities, and prepares schedules for completion of work. Manages the integration of multi-discipline resources necessary to support wing/center-wide tasks and projects. Identifies future resource needs (to include facilities, equipment, and personnel), and implements strategies to support plans and projects.
