This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Office of Strategy, Policy, and Plans (PLCY), Trade and Economic Security (TES). Non-BU: This is a non-bargaining unit position.
The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Senior Policy Analyst on a full range of complex policy issues related to the economic security of the United States, including national security, risk management, telecommunications policy, including policy issues that arise related to the Committee for the Assessment of Foreign Participation in the United States Telecommunications Services Sector (Team Telecom), foreign investment, including policy issues that arise related to the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS), supply chain security, and cybersecurity.
As a Policy Analyst, GS-0301-14, your typical work assignments may include: Participating in the development and drafting of briefing materials and written products on matters related to economic security policy, including related to Team Telecom and CFIUS, for PLCY leadership. Briefing leadership as directed. Building and maintaining relationships with relevant stakeholders across the Department and the interagency to share and gather facts and information on policy views.
Conducting all-source research to gather relevant information and apply knowledge-management best practices to ensure timely availability, consistency, and efficiency of information within collaborative projects. Coordinating intra- and interagency policy processes, developing written materials, briefing leadership, identifying and proposing possible solutions to policy problems, and conducting research and knowledge management activities.
Participating in the development and documentation of long-and short-range planning efforts, resource projections, priorities, and budget justifications, and making recommendations on planning that can be undertaken within existing resource levels while advising on the impact of efforts that require additional resources.
