This position is in Office of the Chief Security Officer, Business Management Division. The ideal candidate for this position will be an experienced Human Resources leader skilled in staffing, policy compliance, and team development, with a proven ability to guide teams, solve problems, and improve HR service delivery. Will provide excellent customer service and handling staffing, creating personnel actions, tracking promotions, details and updating documents and reports.
What will I do in this position if hired? In this position, you will work assessing productivity, effectiveness, and efficiency of program operations or to analyze and resolve problems in effectiveness and efficiency. Serving as a technical expert, exercising independence and judgment to develop and maintain effective working relationships and information networks with various stakeholders in FEMA involved in the human resources process.
Typical assignments include: Analyzing and developing management procedures, systems and/or program evaluation plans and making recommendations to management for best utilization of human resources. Exercising independence and judgment to develop and maintain effective working relationships and information networks with the human resources process. Writing correspondence, reports, or other documents related to self-directed work assignments or developmental activities.
Preparing and delivering oral presentations to a variety of audiences. Planning, preparing, executing, and assessing training to develop career paths for each security occupation. Every FEMA employee has regular and recurring emergency management responsibilities, though not every position requires routine deployment to disaster sites. Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically austere and operationally challenging conditions.
