This position is located in the Office of the Under Secretary of War for Acquisition & Sustainment, Industrial Base Policy (OUSW(A&S)/IBP) is responsible for analyzing the capabilities, overall health, and policies concerning the industrial base on which the Department relies for current and future warfighting capabilities and requirements.
IBP leads the Department's insight and oversight of the industrial base to facilitate readiness, competitiveness, innovation, and financial stability.

Incumbents typical work assignments may include the following: Serve as the primary Department of War (DoW) representative across six statutory and Executive Order-mandated interagency committees (CFIUS, Team Telecom, HSR/Antitrust Reviews, NDAA Section 1260H, ICTS Supply Chain, and Outbound Investment under EO 14105). Conduct comprehensive national security due diligence and risk assessments on foreign inbound/outbound investments, mergers, and acquisitions.
Act as the designated Compliance Officer administering antitrust agency-ordered consent decrees governing the operations and mergers of key defense suppliers under the Hart-Scott-Rodino (HSR) Antitrust Improvements Act. Translate strategic national security goals into actionable policies, methodologies, and programs. Coordinate regularly across Industrial Base Policy (IBP) elements, the Office of the Secretary of War (OSW), and partner federal agencies.
