Job Summary

The candidate will serve as a Program Analyst in the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's (NHTSA) Office of Defects Investigation (ODI), and evaluates, analyzes, and manages a wide range of programmatic, operational, and strategic projects designed to improve the efficiency and support the mission of (ODI).

Key Responsibilities

As a Program Analyst, you will: Assist with reviewing routine workflows by gathering operational data and formatting information used by higher-level staff to improve administrative processes. Input and maintain routine office-level performance data and program metrics within established spreadsheets or tracking systems to support daily operations.

Utilize established databases and business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Cognos) to input data, update existing visualizations, and run standard, pre-formatted reports on operational and defect trends. Compile and organize feedback from program staff regarding basic IT and data reporting needs, maintaining logs to support higher-level staff in coordinating with the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO).

The ideal candidate will have proven experience independently supporting or playing a key role in program analysis projects at the office or division level, with a focus on evaluating operational workflows and utilizing data to generate actionable programmatic reports. The candidate must have hands-on experience evaluating, drafting, and documenting standard operating procedures (SOPs) or localized business processes to support daily programmatic or operational needs.

Direct experience coordinating, gathering, and documenting business and operational requirements aimed at supporting, improving, or implementing localized non-IT or business-side programmatic processes is an asset.
