This Program Support Assistant position is located at VA Palo Alto Health Care System. The position provides program and administrative support to Social Work Service (SWS) at VAPAHCS. SWS has more than 175 staff across multiple clinical and program areas; credentialing, and training support for more than 250 social workers; administers nationally mandated programs; coordinates the Community Nursing Home (CNH) program.
The position reports to the Chief, Social Work Service, Menlo Park Division.

Position Description/PD#: Program Support Assistant/PD03430-O Relocation/Recruitment Incentives: Not Available Major duties include, but are not limited to: Monitors correspondence, suspense items, deadlines, and required training. Collects and reports required data. Supports implementation of new or revised program procedures.
Assists in resolving routine operational issues involving consults, scheduling, encounter corrections, correspondence, and service recovery. Completeness, accuracy, coordination, and compliance with established requirements. Provides procedural information to staff and customers. Prepares routine correspondence, memoranda, agendas, minutes, reports, and administrative documentation. Refers complex technical problems to the appropriate technical office.
Supports education and training coordination by identifying requirements, scheduling training activities, maintaining reference resources, and assisting staff with individual training plans. Performs timekeeping support, including Time and Attendance entries, leave documentation, and fee-basis provider cost tracking in VATAS. Performing other duties as assigned.
