The primary purpose of this position is to serves as a Project Manager for all aspects of DoD Survival, Evasion Resistance and Escape (SERE) education and training on behalf of the Joint Staff Director for Joint Force Development (JS DJ7) and in support of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Special Operations and Low Intensity Conflict (ASD SO/LIC).

Key Responsibilities

DUTY 1: Serves as Project Manager and senior technical expert overseeing all aspects of DoD Survival, Evasion Resistance and Escape (SERE) education and training, and assessment team lead for Service/USSOCOM SERE school assessments.

Incumbent is responsible for assessing and evaluating whether DoD component SERE education and training programs are adequate, appropriately uniform, and consistent with DoD policy and guidance, joint doctrine, and joint education and training standards. DUTY 2: Reviews current and future training requirements of DoD personnel at risk of isolation.

As required reviews training requirements of DoD personnel at risk of isolation and recommends changes to ensure program objectives accurately reflect the joint capability tasks needed for DoD personnel to return with honor from isolation. DUTY 3: Proposes joint standards for SERE education and training and drafts joint guidance.

Reviews, develops, recommends revisions and additions, to policy and guidance, joint doctrine, joint education and training standards, multi-service SERE publications, and JPRA reference products. Conducts research for developing or modifying training programs to achieve adequacy, uniformity and consistency with DoDI O-3002.05, CJCSM 3500.09, CJCSM 3500.10, and JP 3-50 with applicable appendices.
