This position is located within the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Veterans Health Administration (VHA), St. Louis VA Medical Center, Prosthetic and Sensory Aids Service (PSAS). The PSAS provides support to optimize the health and independence of the Veteran services provided within various settings, including the Veterans Integrated Service (VISNs), Inpatient Clinics, Outpatient Clinics, and domiciliaries throughout the United States.
VA Careers - Prosthetics: https://youtube.com/embed/3NUvF5jjErQ The incumbent serves as a Prosthetic Representative and works on various prosthetic and sensory aids programmatic assignments for PSAS. Our Prosthetic Representative completes a variety of prosthetic and sensory aids assignments, projects, activities independently to meet PSASs long-and-short term program goals. Performs technical, administrative, and analytical prosthetic related assignments for the PSAS.
Major duties include, but are not limited to the following: Provide recommendations to the treatment team May serve as the lead for the prosthetic program providing oversight of specific services Keep the PSAS senior staff aware of outcomes and recommendations to enhance the program Conduct visits to VISNs and VHA locations to collect, review, and analyze their best practice information Ability to communicate tactfully and effectively both orally and in writing Draft, develop, and implement new local organizational policies Oversee the operation of the Prosthetic, Orthotic, optical laboratories, including restorations activities Provide oversight and management of contracts Procures materials, supplies, and equipment Familiar with inventory stock Work collaboratively with Supply Chain to provide oversight of prosthetic service inventories Review medical and administrative files of veterans Inform veterans and family on different appliances and services available Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8-4:30 pm CST Telework: Available Virtual: This is not a virtual position.
