This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment.
Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.
Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional Duties include but are not limited to the following: Provide ongoing consultation to local staff trained in evidence based psychotherapies to assist with complex cases and clinical issues and to promote fidelity and sustainability. Serve as a local champion for EBPs, providing information and education to leadership, other clinical staff and referral sources, and patients.
Work with facility leadership, program managers, IT staff, and providers to ensure local processes and procedures are in place to support the implementation of evidence-based psychotherapies, including the availability of weekly individual or group psychotherapy sessions of 1-1.5 hours in length, which are necessary for delivering these focused, time-limited interventions.
Assist in tracking locally the utilization and delivery of EBPs and identifying potential local obstacles to EBP utilization.
Participate in a national network of Local Evidence Based Practice Coordinators to share experiences, provide support, and learn about national VA developments with respect to evidence based psychotherapy; this will involve training opportunities, national listserv communication, and conference calls coordinated by the VA Director of Psychotherapy and Psychogeriatrics and program staff.
Assist the Office of Mental Health Services in disseminating information about upcoming EBP workshops, recruiting appropriate local staff to participate in EBP trainings, and disseminating information about new EBP training resources and program developments. As needed, facilitate EBP trainings for the local facility in conjunction with Organizational Development.
As needed, assist referral manager in tracking psychotherapy panel sizes within the BHIP clinic to ensure EBPs can be provided to model fidelity and the episode of care model (EOC) is maximized within the clinic. Provides a full range of diagnostic and evaluation services, especially in the areas of general psychological evaluation of emotional and behavioral problems and suicide assessment.
Provides a full range of psychological interventions consistent with training and expertise, with special emphasis on evidenced-based treatments. Evidence-based treatments to be provided to Veterans individually or in group format with appropriate documentation and measurement of effectiveness and Veteran response using clinical judgment and standardized assessment instruments.
Develops, implements, and documents the psychotherapeutic treatment plan for an assigned caseload of patients, including prompt completion of clinical reminders. Is involved in the development and ongoing improvement of the Psychology Training Program and actively participates in the Psychology Training Committee meetings.
Attends regular meetings pertinent to Psychology Training, as directed by Psychology Training Director, Direct Supervisor, Chief of Outpatient Behavioral Health, and/or BHSL ACOS.
