This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment.
Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.
Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional Duties include but are not limited to the following: Provides a full range of diagnostic and evaluation services appropriate to the primary care setting, especially in the areas of general psychological evaluation of emotional and behavioral problems and suicide assessment; Provides a full range of psychological interventions consistent with training and expertise, with special emphasis on brief and evidenced-based interventions found to be effective in primary care settings; Develops, implements, and documents the psychotherapeutic treatment plan for an assigned caseload of patients, including prompt completion of clinical reminders.
Facilitates patient and family education appropriate to the primary care setting and the specific presenting mental or behavioral health issues; Provides consultation services to support PCP decision-making, building on PCP interventions and improving PCP-patient working relationships; Provides interventions with a focus on allowing patients to remain with their Primary Care Provider (PCP) for the full range of their health care needs to the extent that this is clinically appropriate.
Supervises trainees conducting direct clinical care. Provides administrative duties including: Scheduling of Veterans and related issues, returning Veterans' phone calls and secure messages, writing reports, attending organizational meetings. May be asked to provide service on a full time bases at one of the CBOC's Grants Pass/K-Falls.
Is involved in the development and on-going improvement of the Psychology Training Programs and actively participates in the Psychology Training Committee meetings. Attends regular meetings pertinent to Psychology Training, as directed by Psychology Training Director, Direct Supervisor, Chief of Outpatient Behavioral Health, and/or MH ACOS. Assists the PCMHI Coordinator in the design, development, and implementation of clinical programs for a team of treatment providers.
Assist the program PCMHI Coordinator in the execution of ongoing program evaluation and data-driven quality improvement projects to monitor the effectiveness of the clinical program. Facilitates liaisons with other health care programs in order to effectively coordinate services.
