Job Summary

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment.

Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.

VA Careers - Psychologist: https://youtube.com/embed/77qHlLw9Xck Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional The following specific clinical duties will be provided by the Program Manager Psychologist/Domiciliary Chief: Broad program management responsibilities to ensure the effective and efficient operation of a key SW/MHSL clinical program that delivers specialized, evidence-based, highly complex professional services that are important components of the medical center and significantly impact upon the overall quality of health care provided to Veteran patients.

Establishes program priorities and goals; develops and implements programs, policies, and procedures; provides oversight of administrative and programmatic resources; manages program resources to facilitate safe, effective, and efficient patient care; and monitors the effectiveness of program service delivery, operations, and outcomes using a data-driven quality assurance process.

Ensure that all MHRRTP staff members are appropriately trained and implements processes to ensure ready access to all appropriate treatments. Ensure that each of the MHRRTP program areas achieve and maintain full accreditation status with all relevant accrediting bodies such as The Joint Commission and CARF. Administrative and supervisory decisions are made exercising wide latitude and independent judgment.

Independently provides psychological services at all levels of complexity, and consults with peers and supervisors as appropriate. Conducts diagnostic evaluations by clinical interview, personality testing, intellectual assessment, organicity screening, and behavioral observation. The incumbent interprets and integrates these findings with all other available patient data and writes the outcomes in comprehensive psychological evaluations.

The incumbent participates in the development of treatment programs for MHRRTP patients. Plans and carries out individual, marital, and/or group psychotherapy with the most difficult cases. Provides education to patients, patients' families, and medical center staff. Provides assessment, therapy, education, and support services for, and interacts with, patients from young adult to geriatric age levels.

Serves as a consultant, adviser, and resource person, not only to lower grade level psychologists, but to staff members of other disciplines, operating officials, and others concerned with patient treatment care, including community resources. Remains thoroughly cognizant of the latest professional techniques and developments in the assigned specialty areas and is able to apply them, when suitable, to his/her work.

Subscribes to and abides by the ethical standards for psychologists as described by the American Psychological Association. Oversees the implementation of program monitors and outcome measurements within the assigned program area using a data-driven quality assurance process. Responsible for timely completion of all clinical charting and documentation required by the medical center or healthcare system, as appropriate.

When setting pay, a higher step rate of the appropriate grade may be determined after consideration of higher or unique qualifications or special needs of the VA (Above Minimum Rate of the Grade).

Paid Time Off: 37-50 days of annual paid time offer per year (13-26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year) Selected applicants may qualify for credit toward annual leave accrual, based on prior [work experience] or military service experience. Parental Leave: After 12 months of employment, up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave in connection with the birth, adoption, or foster care placement of a child.

Child Care Subsidy: After 60 days of employment, full time employees with a total family income below $144,000 may be eligible for a childcare subsidy up to 25% of total eligible childcare costs for eligible children up to the monthly maximum of $416.66.
