Key Responsibilities

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY As a Public Health Advisor (Policy and Health Issues Management), you will: Develop and guide long-range strategic plans, organizational goals, and policy priorities while advising leadership on planning, evaluation, and performance management to support CDC mission objectives.

Serve as an advisor on congressional, legislative, and regulatory matters by analyzing legislation, coordinating congressional briefings, preparing testimony and policy documents, and ensuring agency positions are accurately represented.

Evaluate public health programs, identify opportunities for improvement, develop new initiatives, coordinate responses to high-priority inquiries, and build partnerships with federal, state, local, and external organizations to advance CDC priorities.

Advise senior leadership on complex public health, policy, and oversight issues; coordinate with HHS, Congress, OMB, and other stakeholders; and represent the organization in high-level discussions that influence agency policy and national public health initiatives. This position has 20% supervisory duties-candidates must also have demonstrated or shown the potential to develop the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Requirements & Education
