SUMMARY: The primary purpose of this position is: To provide an experienced public health specialist performing a wide variety of projects involving analysis, reporting, education and awareness, disease management, prevention and readiness, etc.; in support of the organization's public health and occupational health programs within the 482ND FW and its tenants.
Provides technical direction for projects, studies, reporting, training, and actions to several enlisted RMU technicians and provides substantive recommendations to the Chief of Bioenvironmental Engineering/Public Health (BE/PH) office as the public health specialist.
DUTIES: Analyzes, evaluates, coordinates and responds to various aspects of the base public health, occupational health, and emergency programs including Population Health, Epidemiology, Sexually Transmitted Disease Control and Prevention, Tuberculosis Control and Prevention, Rabies Exposure Surveillance, Deployment Medicine, Deployment Health Surveillance, Immunization , Blood borne Pathogen Exposure Control, Tuberculosis Exposure Control, Disaster Response, Reproductive Hazard Assessment, Occupational Illness and Injury Investigation and Remediation programs, Food Safety programs, Facility Sanitation programs, and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) compliance.
Plans, develops, and administers Public Health programs through the Chief of BE/PH for wing organizations served by the RMU, ensuring that flight programs comply with legal and regulatory requirements. Represents the Public Health Office with a variety of installation and functional area organizations. Perform equipment maintenance and operational checks as necessary.
