Key Responsibilities
As Realty Officer, GS-1170, your typical work assignments may include, but not limited to: The incumbent is responsible for planning, organizing and developing the most economically feasible administrative practices and procedures for the execution of BIA section of trust energy and mineral real estate services. Provides technical assistance and guidance to the Indian Energy Service Center Division Chief, Regional and Agency Superintendents, and staff.
Serves as Indian Energy Service Center advisor in the field of Indian trust real estate management. Performs audits of real estate management practice and legal instruments preparation to assure conformance with legal, statutory, regulatory, and policy requirements; monitors the collection of trust funds from realty transactions. Continually analyzes and evaluates the overall effectiveness of the entire program, initiating action necessary for more efficient operation.
Establishes close working relationships with other offices, BLM, BIA, ONRR, BTFA, AVSO and industry, etc., for the purpose of resolving issues, implementing new procedures, coordinating resource issues.
