The John D. Dingell VA Medical Center in Detroit, MI is recruiting for a Registered Nurse- Supervisory Assistant Manager for Acute Care within Nursing Service. The Supervisory Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) supports the Nurse Manager (NM) in overseeing operations of a nursing unit/patient care area.
The Assistant Manager Registered Nurse (RN) fosters team development, ensures compliance with standards of clinical practice, and serves as a key liaison between staff and leadership.
The John D. Dingell VA Medical Center is recruiting for a Supervisory Assistant Nurse Manager located within the Nursing Service. The major duties include, but are not limited to: Serves as the first line supervisor of nursing personnel in the patient care area. Approves schedules and leave for employees under their direct supervision. Serves as the hiring official during the recruitment process for employees under their direct supervision.
Oversees work assignments and provides reports of contact or assisting with fact findings as needed to provide the NM with the information necessary to make recommendations for counseling and/or disciplinary action. Serves as a resource for patients, caregivers, and staff to address and resolve ethical issues in the immediate practice setting. Leads education initiatives to expand knowledge with improved outcomes in the immediate practice setting.
Applies evidence-based practice/research resulting in improved outcomes. Takes responsibility for personal and professional career goals. Supports the professional growth of others. Applies clinical knowledge/judgement to lead staff involvement in planning, decision-making, and evaluating outcomes within the immediate practice setting. Provides input for the performance of employees with the final evaluation completed by the NM.
