Job Summary

Join the Sioux Falls VA Health Care System as a Cardiology RN Care Manager and help Veterans receive coordinated, high-quality heart care. In this specialized role, you will perform and monitor ECGs, stress tests, and echocardiograms; administer pharmacologic agents; manage cardiac devices and home monitoring; educate Veterans; and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to improve outcomes and strengthen continuity of cardiac care for Veterans.

Key Responsibilities

Build your nursing career in a specialized cardiology practice where clinical skill, technology, education, and care coordination come together to make a meaningful difference for Veterans. As a Cardiology RN Care Manager with the Sioux Falls VA Health Care System, you will partner with Veterans, families, cardiology providers, device specialists, vendors, and interdisciplinary colleagues to support timely, informed cardiac care.

This role offers the opportunity to develop expertise in diagnostic testing, cardiac device management, remote monitoring, and patient education while helping Veterans navigate their care with confidence. You will also support outreach clinics at Community Based Outpatient Clinics, extending specialized cardiac services to Veterans across the health care system.

Duties include, but are not limited to: Perform and monitor electrocardiograms, cardiac stress testing, and echocardiograms while evaluating Veteran responses throughout testing and procedures. Administer pharmacologic agents associated with cardiac diagnostic procedures and monitor Veterans for clinical response and changes in condition. Manage implanted cardiac devices through interrogation, adjustment, ongoing surveillance, and coordination of appropriate follow-up care.

Coordinate home cardiac device monitoring with the VA National Cardiac Device Surveillance Center to promote continuity and timely management of Veteran care. Address cardiac device recalls and other device-related concerns in collaboration with cardiology providers, device representatives, and appropriate clinical partners. Educate Veterans and families on cardiac monitoring equipment, testing, treatment plans, and self-management to support informed participation in care.

Coordinate cardiac services, equipment, and monitoring needs with interdisciplinary staff, vendors, and other partners to support timely, high-quality care. Provide cardiology outreach services at Community Based Outpatient Clinics, including required travel, to expand Veterans' access to specialized cardiac care.

You must possess and maintain a current, valid, unrestricted state-issued driver's license.

You must provide a safe, clean driving record from the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) during onboarding. You must successfully complete a driver's physical examination to demonstrate medical ability to safely operate a government-owned or leased vehicle, as required under 5 CFR 930 and HR Job Aid 05-OB-010.002.
