Functions as a Nurse Manager (NM) and is responsible and accountable for all elements of the nursing process when providing or supervising direct patient care. Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates delivery of care based on age specific components. Assumes responsibility for the coordination of care focused on patient education, self-management, and customer satisfaction throughout the continuum of care.
The Registered Nurse - Nurse Manager is the designated first-line supervisory authority and is responsible and accountable for the 24/7 operation of their assigned units and provides coverage for other NMs as needed. Responsible and accountable for the direction and supervision of specific orientation, training, development of staff, and evaluation of individual staff performance.

Enhances care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team to remove barriers and implement new evidence-based cutting-edge programs/processes. Ensures compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards. Aligns nursing/clinical objectives with organizational strategic outcomes, participating in strategy planning and execution. Promotes a workplace positively to achieve the organization's vision and mission.
Maintains knowledge and ensures compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards, Directives, policies, and standard operating procedures (SOP). Provides peers with informal constructive feedback for improvement. Fosters a safe and supportive environment conducive to the professional development of healthcare professionals. Contributes professional nursing perspective in discussions with the interdisciplinary team.

Preferred Experience: Preferred Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required, Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred. Leadership experience in long-term care, geriatrics, rehabilitation, or a Community Living Center environment. Demonstrated experience developing, implementing, and evaluating unit policies and procedures to support safe, high quality patient care.
Proven ability to create and oversee staffing plans, including workload analysis, resource allocation, and scheduling to ensure adequate coverage. Experience leading or contributing to quality improvement (QI) initiatives, including performance metric monitoring, root-cause analysis, and action plan implementation.
Strong understanding of regulatory and accreditation requirements, with the ability to maintain compliance with CMS, Joint Commission, OSHA, and organizational standards. Skill in building collaborative relationships with interdisciplinary teams to support patient-centered care and operational excellence. Excellent communication, decision making, and problem solving abilities, with a focus on staff engagement and professional development.
