Job Summary

The Eastern Kansas Health Care System Leavenworth VAMC is seeking a qualified Registered Nurse to serve as a Post Baccalaureate Registered Nurse Program Director in our Education Department. This announcement will remain open until the position is filled, or until December 31st, 2026, whichever comes first. The initial referral of applicants will occur two weeks after the opening date of this announcement and every two weeks thereafter until filled.

Major Duties

Duties to include but not limited to the following: The PBRNR Program serves as a direct pipeline for providing well trained nurses who greatly contribute to the succession planning efforts of the VA workforce. The Post Baccalaureate Registered Nurse Residency Program Director executes position responsibilities that demonstrate beginning leadership skills and participates in achieving its mission, goals, and expected outcomes. Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates the program based on established policies and guidelines consistent with the program mission, goals, and expected outcomes. Is responsible for the quality and quantity of program-specific training and establishes program initiatives and direction within limitations of available staff and budget. Develops, maintains, and administers a formal, data-driven, systematic plan for appraising the effectiveness of the program, and disseminates program outcomes. Selects, instructs, coaches, mentors, and supervises program participants.
