This position is in Nursing Service, Mental Health (8 East Inpatient) at the VA Connecticut Healthcare Systems, located in West Haven, CT. This position is full-time at 40 hours per week. This position requires applicants to be in their first professional RN role with less than 2080 hours (1 year full-time equivalent) of RN experience.
This Registered Nurse-Transition to Practice position is located in Nursing Service at the West Haven location. The RN-TTP is a graduate nurse serving in their first professional role. The Registered Nurse-TTP is a graduate nurse who uses the nursing process and evidence-based practice in collaboration with the patient health care team in developing and providing patient-driven plan of care.
The RN-TTP is responsible for collaborating with services internal and external to the VA to facilitate care to effectively meet the patients' needs. The Registered Nurse-TTP provides patient and family health education with a focus on self-management, prevention and wellness based on patients' goals.

In some cases, more than one SF-50 may be required to show a higher grade previously held. This position is in the Excepted Service. The salary is based on the grade and step approved for the selected candidate.
