This position is located in the DEA, New Orleans Division, Birmingham, AL District Office. This position(s) primary purpose is to serve as a Registration Program Specialist (RPS), which serves as a key resource at the state and national levels in accordance with the states jurisdictions for all registration applicants authorized to manufacture, distribute, and prescribe controlled substances in accordance with the Controlled Substance Act (CSA).
As a Registration Program Specialist, your typical work assignments may include: Serving as the registration representative and sole point of contact for the license registration program in a geographic region. Reviewing all registration transactions to verify the internal control process has been followed, such as examining all registration transactions and rejecting those not completed in compliance with agency standards and other applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
Maintaining liaison by phone and correspondence with state licensing boards and registration agencies. Conducting presentations and training sessions about DEA's Registration Program and process to the registrant community. Answering questions about a wide variety of registration requirements, procedures, and problems
