Job Summary
The Smithsonian Institution is the world's largest museum, education, and research complex, with 21 museums and the National Zoo. This position is located in is in the Office of the Registrar, Smithsonian's National Zoo and Conservation Biology Institute (NZCBI).
Key Responsibilities
The Registration Specialist is responsible for providing specialized registration support and ensuring the accountability and legal control of collections under the custody of NZCBI. In this position, you will: Maintain collection records related to acquisitions, accessions, and dispositions. Review and process collection transaction forms and records management actions.
Maintain records and monitor activities related to loans, animal transfers, breeding arrangements, biomaterial transfers, and data requests. Coordinate archiving and digitization efforts and assists with digital asset management.
