Job Summary
This position is with the U. S. Department of Labor, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), within the Directorate of Standards and Guidance. This position is at the full performance level. This position is inside the bargaining unit. This position is NOT remote. Selectee will be expected to report to a Department of Labor (DOL) office in either Gulfport, MS, Boise, ID, or Washington, DC.
Key Responsibilities
Duties for the Research Health Science Specialist include, but are not limited to the following: Investigating a broad range of areas such as occupational infection control, occupational epidemiology, toxicology, biology, biostatistics and industrial hygiene. Reviewing and evaluating comments and evidence submitted in response to Requests For Information, proposed rules, and other stakeholder engagement.
Developing proposed and final regulatory text and supporting analyses for safety and health standards. Participating in interagency committees to represent OSHA and workplace safety and health issues. Developing written guidance documents to assist employers and employees in understanding the provisions of new or current standards or hazards.
Requirements & Education

If your education was completed at a foreign college or university, you must show comparability to education received in accredited educational institutions in the United States and comparability to applicable minimum coursework requirements for this position.
